A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following an alleged armed robbery at a home in Mijas that left two residents injured.
Police recovered a machete, a folding knife and a screwdriver following the incident on Calle Camino de Santiago, near the Fuengirola border, shortly after 2.15am on Tuesday.
According to police sources cited by Malaga Hoy, a member of the public raised the alarm after spotting several hooded youths at the entrance to a building.
Fuengirola Policia Local officers intercepted several people at the scene and arrested the teenager, who allegedly tried to flee the property and resisted officers.
The weapons and screwdriver were reportedly found hidden inside the building.
Officers entered the home and discovered two injured residents, aged 21 and 29, with signs of a confrontation.

One had suffered a deep cut to his hand that required nine stitches. Both residents and the arrested teenager were taken to the Las Lagunas urgent care centre for treatment.
Investigators suspect a possible drugs connection. Police sources said the alleged attackers had demanded belongings and suspected narcotics from the occupants.
The teenager was arrested on suspicion of robbery involving violence and intimidation with a bladed weapon, and causing injury.
Policia Nacional has taken over the investigation.
