Local Police in Mijas have arrested a man for breaching a restraining order by travelling with his ex-partner, while also tracking down two wanted fugitives.
The arrests were revealed in two updates published by the force, highlighting a busy week of policing across Las Lagunas, La Cala and Cala Hills.
In the first incident, officers carrying out a security checkpoint on Camino de Coin in Las Lagunas stopped a suspicious vehicle during the early hours of July 7.
After identifying the driver and his passenger, police discovered the man was subject to a judicial restraining order preventing him from approaching his partner – who was sitting beside him in the car.
He was arrested on suspicion of breaching the court order before being handed over to the Guardia Civil for transfer to the judicial authorities.
In a separate operation, Mijas Local Police arrested two men who were already wanted by the courts.
The first was detained in Cala Hills on July 2 after officers noticed his suspicious behaviour. A routine identity check revealed an active arrest warrant.
The second arrest came the following night after a passer-by reported seeing a man allegedly assaulting a woman on the Boulevard de La Cala before fleeing on foot.
Officers located and identified the suspect nearby, discovering he too was the subject of an outstanding arrest warrant.
Both men were arrested, informed of their rights and transferred to the Guardia Civil before being placed at the disposal of the courts.
Mijas Local Police said the operations formed part of its ongoing efforts to improve public safety across the municipality.
