A 93-year-old man has died after being pulled from the water at a beach in Benalmadena.
Emergency services were called to Arroyo de la Miel at around 8.50am after the man was seen in difficulty in the sea.
According to Andalucia’s 112 emergency service, people at the beach pulled him from the water before beginning CPR while waiting for paramedics to arrive.
Health workers were dispatched to the scene, but despite their efforts they could only confirm the man’s death.
Photos shared online showed the corpse covered by a blue and white striped towel, while a police officer stood nearby.
No further details have yet been released about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
