A €500million beachfront hotel and residential complex is planned for eastern Marbella, with a projected opening in 2031.
Hong Kong-based property investment group Platinum Estates and developer Sierra Blanca Estates have announced the project in Las Chapas, bringing Marriott International’s St. Regis brand to the Costa del Sol.
The development will feature 169 hotel rooms and 151 luxury residences, ranging from two to five bedrooms and measuring between 150 and 1,000 square metres.
Planned facilities include restaurants, a wellness area, sports facilities, swimming pools and a beach club, available to hotel guests and homeowners.
The complex will occupy a beachfront plot of more than 160,000 square metres, with over 350 metres of sea frontage and direct beach access.

According to the developers, its architecture will follow the natural slope of the land, with gardens and open spaces intended to help it blend into its surroundings.
More than 5,000 square metres will be dedicated to dining, leisure and wellness, alongside 1,100 square metres for meetings and events.
The developers estimate construction will generate more than 2,000 direct jobs and 4,500 indirect jobs, with over 450 permanent positions once the resort opens.
Platinum Estates founder Harry Mohinani said the scheme had been years in the making.
‘Las Dunas has been part of our vision for Marbella from day one,’ he said, explaining that the company had worked to bring together the land, licences and a local partner needed for a development of this scale.
Sierra Blanca Estates chief executive Carlos Rodriguez described the size and beachfront location of the plot as an increasingly rare opportunity in Marbella.
Mayor Angeles Muñoz said the project would create jobs, improve infrastructure and return public spaces to the city.
