Sevilla will launch its first direct connection to North America next year, it has been confirmed.
The service is scheduled to begin on September 8, 2027, marking the Andalucian capital’s first regular transatlantic route.
Flights will initially operate three times a week, increasing to four from October 1. Tickets are already on sale.
Mayor Jose Luis Sanz announced the connection with Montreal on Wednesday alongside Air Canada’s manager for Spain and Portugal, Jose Blazquez, following a meeting with tourism representatives.
He described it as a historic milestone that would strengthen Sevilla’s international profile and create opportunities for investment and trade.
Flight times and connections
Departures from Sevilla’s San Pablo airport are scheduled for 12.45pm, arriving in Montreal at 2.40pm local time.

Return flights will leave Montreal at 8.30pm and land in Sevilla at 9.30am the following day.
The seasonal service will initially run from September 2027 to January 2028, returning from February to June.
Air Canada will use an Airbus A321XLR with 182 seats, including 14 fully reclining seats in its Signature cabin.
The Montreal hub will also offer onward connections across North America, the Caribbean and Latin America.
Sanz said the announcement followed efforts to attract the airline, including a visit to Canada in July to promote Sevilla’s tourism and business potential.
According to municipal figures, searches for travel between Sevilla and Montreal rose by 47% over the past year.
Air Canada highlighted the city’s appeal outside the peak summer months, particularly in spring and autumn when milder temperatures make sightseeing more comfortable.
The announcement comes as San Pablo continues to grow. The airport handled more than 7.8 million passengers in the first nine months of 2026, up 9.4% on the same period last year.
