A new Four Seasons resort overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar and Andalucia coastline is being planned for Tangier, it has emerged.
The luxury hotel group has announced a partnership with developer Royal Resort Cap Malabata for a cliffside complex in the Moroccan city’s Cap Malabata district.
The resort will have 99 rooms, suites and villas, including 27 standalone villas, along more than 260 metres of waterfront.
Facilities will include a large outdoor pool, waterfront lounging areas and four restaurants serving local and international food.
A spa, gym and children’s activity programme are also planned, alongside indoor and outdoor spaces for weddings, meetings and other events.
Architectural firm Arjitec will design the resort, with interiors by Goddard Littlefair.
The development will become Four Seasons’ fourth property in Morocco, joining its hotels in Casablanca and Rabat and its resort in Marrakech.

Tangier is already a familiar destination for southern Spain residents, with ferry connections from Tarifa offering access to its medina, markets and coastline.
According to the developers, the resort’s location will be around 15 minutes from Tangier’s high-speed railway station and 45 minutes from Ibn Battouta airport.
Four Seasons has yet to announce an opening date or room prices.
