A 57-year-old plastic surgeon has been shot dead inside his own clinic in Marbella.
The victim has been named locally as Dr Alexander Aslani, the founder and medical director of Cirumed, although police have not yet formally confirmed his identity.
The victim suffered several gunshot wounds to the head during the attack on Wednesday evening.
Sources close to the investigation said two masked assailants arrived on an off-road motorbike before opening fire and fleeing the area.
The clinic is in the Real Panorama complex, near Opium Beach Club on the eastern side of Marbella.
Emergency services received the first alert at around 5.40pm after witnesses reported hearing gunfire inside premises at the Panorama urbanisation.

Callers told the 112 emergency service that a worker at the clinic had been hit by the gunfire.
Policia Nacional, Policia Local and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Despite attempts to treat the victim, he could not be stabilised and was pronounced dead at the scene.
No arrests had been made at the time of publication and no further details about the circumstances surrounding the attack have been released.

The investigation is being led by the Policia Nacional’s Robbery and Violent Crime Unit.
