The enormous wealth divide between Sevilla’s richest and poorest neighbourhoods has been laid bare in new official figures.
New tax office figures show residents in the city’s most affluent areas declare almost five times as much income as those in its poorest.
According to data published by Spain’s Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria), the average annual gross income declared in the least wealthy zone of Torreblanca was just €11,560 in 2024.
Meanwhile, taxpayers in postcode 41004, which covers parts of the historic centre, Nervion and the southern district, declared an average of €56,285.
That represents a staggering difference of €44,725 a year between the two areas of the same city.
The figures, taken from the Tax Agency’s annual income tax statistics broken down by postcode, highlight the stark economic inequalities that continue to divide the Andalucian capital.
Torreblanca, on Sevilla’s eastern outskirts, once again found itself at the bottom of the city’s income rankings.
Its average disposable income, the amount remaining after income tax and relevant social security contributions, stood at just €10,650.

That is €16,414 below the Sevilla average and €32,051 less than the wealthiest postcode, where average disposable income reached €42,701.
The figures also place Torreblanca among Spain’s poorest areas in the Tax Agency’s postcode income statistics.
