The world’s largest sailing cruise ship has made a spectacular arrival in Cadiz, bringing a new level of luxury to the southern Spanish port.
The Orient Express Corinthian, a 220-metre-long vessel operated under the iconic Orient Express brand, docked in the city on Saturday morning (October 10) as part of an exclusive voyage between Malaga and Lisbon.
The journey, which also includes a stop in Portimao in Portugal, lasts just three days, with prices starting at an eye-watering €17,100.
For passengers seeking the ultimate luxury experience, the ship’s spectacular Zephyr Suite costs €74,400.
The accommodation spans 231 square metres of interior space, alongside a 112-square-metre private terrace.
Designed for up to four guests, it features two bedrooms and a private jacuzzi, offering a level of space and exclusivity rarely seen aboard cruise ships.
Despite having capacity for around 100 passengers, just 49 guests are reportedly travelling aboard the vessel on its current voyage.
The Orient Express Corinthian is part of the luxury hospitality portfolio of French hotel group Accor, which has expanded the historic Orient Express name into the world of high-end maritime travel.
Unlike conventional cruise liners, the vessel combines the facilities of a floating luxury hotel with traditional sailing technology.
Its three enormous masts support approximately 4,500 square metres of sails, allowing the ship to harness wind power and reduce its reliance on conventional propulsion when conditions permit.

Mechanical propulsion systems are also available to ensure the vessel can maintain its itinerary regardless of wind conditions.
The ship’s arrival in Cadiz comes amid growing interest in the city as a destination for high-end cruise tourism.
