A strong smell of cannabis has led to the discovery of a large stash of drugs at a commercial premises in Mijas, resulting in the arrest of a business owner.
The operation unfolded in the Los Jarales commercial zone after police received multiple complaints from local residents about alleged disturbances linked to a premises in the area.
Officers attended the scene on Saturday night and immediately detected a strong odour consistent with marijuana, prompting further checks inside the establishment.
According to authorities, officers identified the owner and carried out an inspection, in which they discovered large quantities of cannabis products allegedly prepared for sale.
Inside, police found containers holding marijuana, along with quantities of hashish and pre-rolled marijuana cigarettes.


In total, officers seized 5.75kg of marijuana, 860g of hashish and 165 cannabis cigarettes.
The owner of the establishment was arrested on suspicion of an offence against public health and was later transferred to Guardia Civil facilities before being brought before a court.
