A rare chance to explore the Alhambra’s gardens for free is coming to Granada later this month.
The Patronato de la Alhambra y Generalife is offering a guided visit on April 27 to mark the European Day of Historic Gardens.
The initiative highlights the role of historic landscapes in shaping Europe’s cultural identity.
The three-hour visit, running from 11am to 2pm, will take participants through some of the most emblematic areas of the complex.
The route includes the Paseo de los Nogales, the Generalife, the Patio de la Acequia, the Paseo de las Adelfas, the Jardines de San Francisco, and the famous patios of the Alhambra, including the Arrayanes and the Leones.

The tour will be led by specialist staff from the gardens, forests and orchards service of the Alhambra.
Places are limited, and registration will open online on April 23 at 12pm via the official website of the Patronato.
The event forms part of a wider initiative promoted by the European Route of Historic Gardens, recognised as a Cultural Route of the Council of Europe.
This year’s theme – ‘Historic gardens build Europe’ – highlights how these spaces reflect shared history, cultural exchange and identity across the continent.
