Three Dutch men have been arrested after a broad-daylight shooting on Marbella’s Golden Mile left a man with a bullet wound to the leg.

The incident unfolded shortly after 2.15pm on Tuesday on Avenida Ramon Gomez de la Serna, close to a hotel in the popular Costa del Sol resort.

Several witnesses called the 112 Andalucia emergency service after hearing gunshots ring out in the area.

Policia Nacional and Local Police officers raced to the scene, while paramedics were dispatched to treat the wounded man.

Police have now arrested three Dutch nationals over their alleged involvement in the shooting, according to sources close to the investigation.

Man shot in leg

The victim was found suffering from a gunshot wound to one of his legs and received medical attention.

No further information has yet been released about his condition.

The precise circumstances surrounding the shooting also remain unclear, including what sparked the violence and whether the victim and suspects knew each other.

The shooting took place on Avenida Ramon Gomez de la Serna, which runs through one of Marbella’s busiest and most exclusive areas, close to the Golden Mile.

Earlier witness accounts described hearing a succession of shots before seeing people fleeing.

Police have yet to release the identities of the three Dutch suspects or provide further details about the investigation.
