A motorcyclist has died following a crash on the A-7 in the Campo de Gibraltar, in yet another fatal incident on one of Andalucia’s most dangerous roads.
The collision happened at around 7.25am on Friday heading towards Algeciras, near the Toril junction in San Roque.
Emergency services were alerted after multiple calls to Andalucia’s 112 control centre reporting a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
Witnesses said the rider had been thrown onto the road following the impact.
Paramedics from the 061 emergency service were dispatched alongside Guardia Civil traffic officers and road maintenance teams.
Despite their efforts, the motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident caused significant disruption during the morning rush hour, with long tailbacks forming along the A-7 and delays stretching towards the main access routes into Algeciras.
The circumstances surrounding the crash are now under investigation.
