A 30-year-old woman has been found stabbed to death in Antequera.

The Policia Nacional is investigating whether the killing could be yet another case of ‘gender violence’.

The force said no arrests have been made and that all lines of enquiry remain open.

Emergency services were called at around 2pm on Sunday following reports that a woman had been stabbed.

Paramedics attended the scene but could only certify her death.

Police have not released details about a possible suspect or the circumstances leading up to the attack.

If confirmed as a gender violence killing, it would be the latest in a string of such cases in Malaga province.

The most recent occurred just weeks ago in Las Lagunas, Mijas, where a man was arrested after allegedly murdering his partner, 61-year-old Maria, and her daughter Patricia before setting fire to their home in an apparent attempt to conceal the crime.

The suspect remains under investigation after exercising his right not to testify before the court, while a judge in Fuengirola continues to oversee the case.

Following confirmation by Spain’s Ministry of Equality, that double murder brought the number of women killed by current or former partners in Malaga province in 2026 to four.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the Antequera death.
