A fire in Fuengirola has forced the evacuation of an entire apartment block and two neighbouring buildings.
The blaze broke out at around 9am on Wednesday in a first-floor apartment on Calle Fray Luis de Leon, prompting a major emergency response.
Around 40 residents were evacuated from the affected buildings as a precaution while firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.
Emergency services, including three fire crews, officers from the Local Police and Guardia Civil, and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.
One person was treated by paramedics, although the nature and severity of their injuries have not been disclosed.
Residents were later allowed to return to their homes gradually once the area had been declared safe.
Fuengirola Town Hall said the Policia Nacional will investigate the cause of the fire.
Authorities have not yet indicated how the blaze started.
