A Frenchman claiming to be a shaman has been arrested in Malaga after allegedly breaking into a residential complex, injuring himself while scaling a wall and pushing a police officer into a swimming pool.
The incident took place at around 1pm on Monday in the Cerrado de Calderon area of the city.
Residents alerted authorities after seeing the man climb over an eight-metre perimeter wall before leaving a trail of blood across the complex’s gardens.
Photos shared online show blood stains around the edge of the swimming pool while multiple police officers restrain the suspect on the ground.
According to reports, the suspect had abandoned his car at the entrance to the residential parking area with the engine still running, blocking access for other vehicles. Witnesses said he was dressed entirely in white and described himself as a spiritual guru.
Images from the scene later circulated on social media, showing blood stains near the swimming pool and a large police presence inside the gated urbanisation.

The incident was also referenced by local politicians, with Vox Malaga claiming the suspect was an immigrant who had entered the residential complex after allegedly stealing a vehicle.
The party said the incident had caused alarm among residents and renewed its calls for tougher measures against repeat offenders and those committing crimes.
Police have not publicly commented on the political claims, although investigators have confirmed that the vehicle linked to the suspect had been reported stolen in the municipality of Riogordo.
After entering the complex, the man reportedly made his way to the communal swimming pool despite suffering a deep cut to his foot sustained while climbing over the wall.
Local Police officers found him sitting by the pool and attempted to assist him.
One officer reportedly offered him a hand to help him stand up, but the suspect allegedly pulled away suddenly, causing the officer to fall into the water.

Police then restrained and arrested the man while emergency medical personnel were called to treat his injury.
The suspect was taken to Hospital Regional de Malaga, where doctors determined that his foot injury required surgery.
Sources said he appeared highly agitated while receiving treatment and investigators suspect drug use may have played a role in his behaviour.
Following medical treatment, doctors arranged for the man to undergo a psychiatric evaluation.
According to investigators, the man had travelled from France to Malaga Province to attend a spiritual retreat.
Police also discovered that the vehicle he had driven to Cerrado de Calderon had been reported stolen in Riogordo.
The investigation remains ongoing.
