A 41-year-old man has been injured in a dramatic crash involving a stolen car and a van in San Pedro Alcantara.
Emergency services were called to a roundabout near the beach promenade at around 7.30am on Wednesday following the collision.
The force of the impact sent the vehicle, which had allegedly been stolen hours earlier, crashing through an exterior fence, leaving its front end completely wrecked.
Images shared online showed the severity of the crash, with the mangled vehicle later removed by a recovery truck.
A 41-year-old man suffered injuries in the collision and was treated by emergency medical teams.
Witnesses claimed two young men travelling in the vehicle attempted to flee the scene on foot but were tracked down and arrested by local police.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and have not confirmed whether the injured man was one of the occupants of the stolen vehicle.
The collision caused disruption in the area during the morning rush hour as emergency crews secured the scene and removed the damaged car.
