A lorry driver is under investigation after crashing an articulated truck carrying seven cars in Malaga while high on drugs.
The incident happened on March 2, when the vehicle veered off the road while transporting multiple cars on its trailer.
Officers from the Guardia Civil attended the scene alongside specialist traffic investigators.
The driver was subjected to alcohol and drug tests, returning a positive result for both cannabis (THC) and cocaine.
According to authorities, he also admitted to having taken drugs prior to the crash.
The results were later confirmed through laboratory analysis.
Investigators also reported visible signs consistent with drug use, as well as the driver’s direct involvement in the accident.
As a result, the driver is now being investigated for an alleged road safety offence for driving under the influence of drugs.
The case is being handled by traffic units of the Guardia Civil in Malaga.
