A driver who flipped his van in a dramatic crash in Malaga stunned witnesses by calmly walking away from the wreck and heading to a nearby cafe for a coffee.
The man, who later tested positive for alcohol, is now under investigation for a road safety offence, according to local authorities.
The incident unfolded at around 8pm on Wednesday in the Miraflores de El Palo neighbourhood, on Calle Bailora Carmen Amaya.
For reasons still under investigation, the driver lost control on a steep stretch of road, mounted the curb, slammed into an embankment and overturned the vehicle.
Despite the severity of the crash, no one was injured.
A passing motorist stopped to help the driver out of the wreckage.
But instead of waiting at the scene, the man left shortly afterwards – later claiming he went for a coffee because he was nervous after the crash.
Police quickly located him and took him to the Accident Investigation Unit, where he tested positive in a breathalyser test.
He was informed of his rights as a suspect in a road safety offence and will face a fast-track court hearing.
Firefighters were also called to the scene to secure the overturned vehicle, which had drawn a crowd of concerned neighbours.
