A hiker who was reported missing early Monday morning has been found dead in Nerja.
According to emergency services, his corpse was found in the Sierra de Almijara.
The alert was raised at around 7.15am, prompting the deployment of the Guardia Civil and Nerja Local Police to launch a search operation.
The man’s last known location placed him in the Nerja area, descending the Barranco de los Cazadores (Hunters’ Ravine), according to information passed to emergency responders.
During the search operation, the Guardia Civil later confirmed to 112 that the hiker had been located deceased.
No further details have yet been released regarding the circumstances of his death.
