A man and woman have been found dead inside their home in Coin.
The Guardia Civil has opened an investigation following the grisly discovery inside a rural property in the Arroyo de las Piedras area.
Emergency services were alerted around 7pm on Sunday after reports of two bodies discovered in a country house located in the remote countryside.
Officers from the Guardia Civil and medical personnel were dispatched to the scene, but both victims were pronounced dead on arrival.
According to the Andalucian emergency service 112, a judicial protocol has been activated to determine the cause of death.
The exact circumstances remain unclear pending the results of the autopsies.
The couple, both believed to be in their 40s, were not long-term residents of the area, local sources said.
The property where their bodies were found is situated in a rural zone bordering the municipality of Casarabonela.
