A man and a woman have been found dead from gunshot wounds inside a home in Malaga.
The bodies of a 56-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman were discovered on Friday morning at a property on Calle Guadalimar in the La Palma neighbourhood of the city.
Emergency services were alerted at around 7.30am after a member of the public contacted the 112 emergency hotline reporting that two people appeared to be dead inside the property.
Policia Nacional officers and paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Medical personnel later confirmed both individuals had died.
The case has been assigned to the Homicide Group of Malaga’s Provincial Police Headquarters, which is now leading the investigation.
Detectives are working to establish exactly what happened before the two bodies were discovered and whether any third parties were involved.
At this stage, police have not released further details about the circumstances surrounding the deaths or the relationship between the man and woman.
Investigators are currently focusing on reconstructing the sequence of events leading up to the shooting and determining the origin of the gunfire.
Police sources said the investigation remains in its early stages and that all possible lines of enquiry are being considered.
No arrests have been made and no suspects have been identified.
Officers spent much of Friday morning gathering evidence from the property as forensic specialists worked alongside homicide detectives.
