Local Police in Mijas have arrested three men wanted by the courts during two separate operations carried out in La Cala and Las Lagunas.
The arrests formed part of ongoing patrol, surveillance and crime prevention operations being conducted across the municipality.
The first incident took place on the afternoon of May 22 on the La Cala boulevard, where officers spotted a vehicle travelling at high speed.
After stopping the car, police discovered that the occupants were subject to active judicial arrest warrants.
Later the same day, officers carrying out surveillance work on Calle Macharaviaya in Las Lagunas noticed another man behaving suspiciously.
According to police, the individual attempted to flee as soon as he became aware of the officers’ presence.
He was eventually intercepted and identified, with checks confirming he too was wanted by the courts.
In both operations, officers formally arrested the three men, read them their rights and transferred them into the custody of the Guardia Civil before they were placed at the disposal of judicial authorities.
Local Police said the arrests are part of wider security operations aimed at detecting criminal activity and locating individuals sought by the justice system in different areas of the municipality.
The nationality of the suspects was not revealed.
