An eight-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a bus in Benalmadena.
The child was injured in Arroyo de la Miel at around 10pm on Monday, according to emergency services.
The incident occurred on Avenida Antonio Machado, one of the main roads running through the municipality.
Emergency service 112 Andalucia received a call reporting that a child had been struck by a vehicle and was injured.
Initial information provided to emergency services indicated that the vehicle involved was a bus.
Local Police and 061 paramedics were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Medical teams treated the eight-year-old before taking him by ambulance to Malaga’s Materno Infantil Hospital.
The extent of his injuries has not yet been disclosed and there has been no further update on his condition.
It also remains unclear exactly how the collision occurred.
It came a day before a 12-year-old boy was struck by a car in a hit-and-run in Torremolinos.
Police are still searching for the driver.
