A woman has been stabbed to death in the middle of a street in Murcia.
The victim, aged around 30, suffered multiple stab wounds to her neck and abdomen in the La Fama neighbourhood early on Monday morning.
She was attacked on Calle Cali Josefa Fernandez Romero, near its junction with Calle Santa Rita.
A resident called 112 after hearing screams, prompting an emergency response involving paramedics, Policia Nacional and local officers.
Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the woman but were unable to save her.
Neighbours identified her as Lorena, originally from Molina de Segura, according to La Opinion de Murcia.
One resident said she had seen the victim earlier that morning.
‘She brought me my coffee this morning, and look what has happened to her,’ the neighbour told the newspaper.

Police cordoned off the street while forensic officers gathered evidence. Her body was removed at around 11.30am following judicial authorisation and taken to the Institute of Legal Medicine and Forensic Sciences for a post-mortem examination.
The suspect, a Spanish man aged around 45, was detained following a police search.
Government sources said the case was not being investigated as domestic violence, as initial enquiries suggested the suspect and victim did not know each other and had not been in a relationship.
The investigation continues.
