A manhunt is underway after a 12-year-old boy fractured his skull in an alleged hit-and-run in Torremolinos.

The pupil was struck outside his school on Tuesday, in what was his first day back after the long summer break.

He remains admitted to Malaga’s Materno Infantil Hospital, reports local newspaper Malaga Hoy.

Police are now working to identify and locate the driver behind the incident.

The vehicle involved has been described as a white Opel with a black roof.

The investigation continues.
