This is the moment a thief was caught snatching a necklace from a woman’s neck in the heart of Murcia city.
CCTV footage shared online shows the victim walking next to the Jardin de la Seda (Seda Garden) at around 11am on Wednesday.
She is seen pulling along a shopping trolley in broad daylight when the attacker suddenly comes up behind her.
The thief grabs her neck before the pair grapple with one another for a few seconds.
The mugger eventually snatches the necklace and runs across the street.
A young woman who sees the robbery begins shouting at him while rushing towards the victim.
She is heard shouting as he runs away: ‘You son of a b***h, if I catch you I’ll kill you!’
It is not yet known if the attacker has been identified by police.
The Spanish Eye has contacted Murcia city council for comment.
