The adage of ‘every accusation is a confession’ is never more true in regards to Donald Trump.

In his latest attack on Spain, he declared the country ‘ruined’ following the Ceuta migrant crisis that has engulfed Pedro Sanchez’s government.

But when it comes to ruining a country, Trump could write the book.

Since day one of his second term, it seems he has gone out of his way to destroy any good standing the US had left in the world.

His ill-advised tariffs – which were later ruled illegal by his own Supreme Court – did nothing but sour relations with almost every country in the world.

That was before he began teasing the annexation of Greenland from Denmark, and practically declaring NATO obsolete, undermining the most important security alliance of the post-World War Two era.

The Iran war is possibly the most stupid foreign policy blunder in decades, which we have yet to feel the full consequences of.

In the latest episode of the Trump reality show, he has declared a trade war with Canada, for seemingly no reason at all – it’s like he is trying to lose as many seats as possible at the upcoming midterms.

In a recent poll of seven countries by YouGov, majorities in every nation surveyed, including the US itself, believed America has become more of a force for bad under Trump, ranging from 52% of Americans to 74% of Britons and Germans.

Domestically, the degradation of the US justice system has been nothing short of a disgrace.

Trump has packed as many courts as he can with yes men and women, including the highest court in the land.

And let’s not even start with the cryptocurrency shenanigans and allegations of insider trading. He is the first US President to become richer while in office, to the tune of billions of dollars.

He has singlehandedly denigrated the image of the office of the presidency, and quite literally made it an eyesore with his ridiculous ‘ballroom’.

Meanwhile, the running of the US health department by vaccine sceptic Robert Kennedy Jr has been nothing short of a complete shambles.

Thanks to a drop in vaccine rates, measles has seen an alarming comeback.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says more than 2,700 cases have been reported nationwide in 2026, already surpassing last year’s total, which itself was the highest in three decades.

Meanwhile, thanks to an alleged lapse in food safety standards, this year has seen an outbreak of explosive diarrhea.

According to the CDC, there were 6,707 cyclosporiasis cases confirmed across the US from May 1 to July 27, and at least two people died from the condition in Michigan.

Elsewhere, environmental protections have been cut, and millions of Americans are losing their already limited access to healthcare thanks to a rollback of the vital medicaid programme.

And the list goes on and on and on.

So when Trump goes on TV and accuses Pedro Sanchez of ruining his own country, he might want to take a look in the mirror.
