This is the moment Germany’s most wanted drug trafficker was arrested in Malaga following a five-year stint on the run.
The fugitive and towering MMA fighter was detained by the Policia Nacional on August 24 following a joint investigation with Germany’s Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA).
The paranoid crime boss is said to have changed his identity every three months to avoid capture.
He was wanted under a European Arrest Warrant for drug trafficking and mafia-related charges, while also facing a separate outstanding warrant issued by Spain.
The manhunt in Spain began in 2025 after investigators received information suggesting he could be hiding in the country, where he had previously lived.
The Policia Nacional said the suspect maintained a warehouse in Spain that was used to load drugs onto lorries.
The vehicles would then transport the narcotics through France and into Germany, it is claimed.
But tracking the fugitive down proved difficult due to the extraordinary measures he took to conceal his whereabouts.
Police said the suspect, who is experienced in boxing and mixed martial arts, changed his mobile phone number every two weeks and adopted a new identity approximately every three months.
He had also previously completed a cybersecurity course in Turkey.
Investigators believe the training gave him knowledge of operating systems, electronic devices and social media techniques that could be used to make him more difficult to trace.
A breakthrough came when Spanish officers managed to locate the fugitive’s brother.
That discovery triggered several days of surveillance and tailing across different Spanish provinces as officers attempted to establish where the wanted man was living.
Police eventually tracked him to Malaga and confirmed that he was travelling in the passenger seat of his brother’s car.
Officers moved in and arrested him on August 24, ending his five years as a fugitive.
The suspect was subsequently brought before Spain’s Audiencia Nacional, which ordered that he be remanded in custody.
