A series of seven small earthquakes were recorded across Malaga province on Saturday, it has emerged.
According to the National Geographic Institute (IGN), the tremors occurred between 8am and 6pm.
The seismic activity was concentrated inland around Campillos, Ardales and Valle de Abdalajís, in the north of the Guadalhorce Valley and the southeast of the Antequera region.
Although some of the quakes were extremely shallow, all measured between 1.5 and 2.0 on the Richter scale, meaning none were felt by the public.
The first tremor was recorded at 8:08am near Campillos, measuring 1.9 magnitude at a depth of 11km.
It was followed at 11.25am by a 1.5-magnitude quake near Ardales, at a depth of 18km.
Two more earthquakes struck Campillos just nine minutes apart, one at 1.32pm, with a magnitude of 1.8, and another at 1.41pm, also with a magnitude of 1.8.
At 2.10pm, a third 1.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded in Valle de Abdalajís, six kilometres below the surface.

The final two tremors occurred late in the afternoon: a 2.0 tremor in Campillos at 5.33pm and a 1.7 queake in Valle de Abdalajis at 5.35pm.
No injuries or damage have been reported following the seismic activity.
Small earthquakes are relatively common in southern Spain due to the region’s location near the boundary between the Eurasian and African tectonic plates.
The IGN continues to monitor seismic activity across the province.
