Holidaymakers heading to Andalucia’s coast this August are paying more than ever for a week by the sea, it has emerged.
According to the latest Grupo Tecnitasa Coastal Rental Report 2026, the average holiday rental in the region now costs €1,494, around €141 more than the Spanish average.
The study, which analysed 37 coastal locations across Malaga, Cadiz, Granada, Almeria and Huelva, highlights the huge gap between Andalucia’s luxury hotspots and its more affordable beach resorts.
Unsurprisingly, Puerto Banus has retained its title as the most expensive place to rent a holiday home not only in Andalucia, but in the whole of Spain.
A 110m2 apartment in the Marbella marina now commands an eye-watering €3,800 per week, making it the country’s costliest coastal holiday rental.
Marbella also claims two more places among Andalucia’s most expensive destinations.
An 80m2 apartment between the town centre, marina and Fontanilla costs €2,370 per week, while a 78m2 property around Playa Alicante, El Rosario and Marbesa rents for €2,240.
As a result, Malaga province has the highest average weekly holiday rental price in Andalucia at €1,826.
The second most expensive destination is Sotogrande Marina in San Roque, where a 130m2 apartment costs €2,500 a week.
Cadiz province also features prominently in the rankings. Holidaymakers can expect to pay €2,100 for a week in Puerto Sherry or Vistahermosa in El Puerto de Santa Maria, while Costa Ballena in Rota averages €1,700, Los Lances beach in Tarifa €1,650, and Conil de la Frontera around €1,500.
Across the eight Cadiz locations surveyed, the average weekly rental comes to €1,725, making it Andalucia’s second most expensive province for summer lets.
Granada’s Costa Tropical has also seen some of Spain’s sharpest price increases this year.
A week in Velilla, Almuñecar now costs around €1,900, while Playa Granada in Motril reaches €1,700 and San Cristobal beach in Almuñecar €1,600.
Yet Granada is also home to Andalucia’s cheapest seaside destination.
In Torrenueva, near Motril, an 80m2 apartment costs just €850 per week – almost €3,000 less than an equivalent stay in Puerto Banús.
Almeria remains relatively affordable, with an average weekly rental of €1,164. Mojacar and San Jose top the province at €1,400, while Roquetas de Mar averages €1,100 and Almeria city around €900.
Huelva offers the lowest average prices overall, with weekly rentals averaging €954. Matalascañas is the cheapest at €890, while Islantilla, Isla Canela and Punta Umbría all remain below €1,050.
Nationally, the average cost of renting a holiday home on the coast has risen by 6.5% over the past year to €1,353 per week.
While Malaga remains Spain’s luxury holiday rental capital, the report suggests the fastest price growth is now shifting towards provinces including Cadiz and Granada, where demand continues to outstrip supply as more visitors flock to Andalucia’s coastline.
