A 19-year-old waiter has been hospitalised after being stabbed multiple times during his shift in Malaga city on Sunday.
Emergency services received multiple calls at around 11.20pm reporting that a person had been attacked with a knife in Plaza Marques del Vado del Maestre, better known locally as Plaza Mitjana.
The 112 Andalucia control centre immediately alerted the Policia Nacional and emergency medical teams, who attended the scene.
The victim suffered three stab wounds, including injuries to his back, arm and shoulder.
Paramedics treated him at the scene before transferring him to hospital for further medical care.
Officers from the Local Police also attended the incident.
A large police operation was launched following the attack as investigators work to locate the person responsible and establish the circumstances surrounding the stabbing.
No arrests have been announced and the investigation remains ongoing.
