Andalucia has been shaken by a second earthquake, just minutes after the Costa del Sol tremor.

The National Geographical Institute (IGN) detected a magnitude-1.9 tremor with its epicentre in Zafarraya, Granada, at 11.22am at a depth of 19km. No damage or injuries have been reported.

The quake struck less than an hour after the far stronger 4.8 tremor felt across Malaga at 10.38am.

The incident occurred at 10.30am near the town of Fuengirola and was felt across Malaga province.

The epicentre was 79km deep, with the some of the most noticeable tremors felt in Malaga City and Alhaurin de la Torre.

Residents have reported feeling shaking that lasted for up to five seconds.

The earthquake, initially recorded as 4.2, was later updated to 4.8 by the National Geographic Institute.

One Brit wrote in an expat forum on Facebook: ‘Who felt the earthquake just now?’

A fellow expat replied: ‘Yes in El Pinillo! Everything shook for a few seconds.’
