A leading Spanish cardiologist has lauded a piece of fruit for its proven ability to reduce stress and anxiety levels in as little as four days.

Aurelio Rojas revealed how the popular treat is a ‘biological bomb’ of healthy elements in his latest TikTok video.

The fruit in question is kiwi, which is packed with vitamin C and fibre, and has long been associated with good gut health.

He added: ‘The kiwi is the king, based on current scientific evidence.

‘In just four days, it improves mood and vitality, and in two weeks, it reduces stress and fatigue and improves overall well-being by up to 60%.

#fruta #estres #cortisol #vitaminac

‘The unique combination of vitamin C, fiber, potassium, and antioxidants surpasses even taking vitamin C alone.

‘Best of all, it’s a daily strategy that works, it’s inexpensive, fast, and has no side effects.’

Rojas listed four other fruits in order of effectiveness in reducing stress and anxiety.

In second place he put avocado, which he praised for being ‘rich in monounsaturated fats and vitamin B6’ which is ‘key for neurotransmitters of well-being (serotonin, dopamine, and GABA).’

He said the fruit also stabilises glucose which leads to fewer blood sugar spikes and therefore less stress.

In third position he placed bananas, thanks to their potassium and tryptophan levels which help build serotonin.

Oranges and citrus fruits were fourth, thanks to their high vitamin C levels that ‘reduce post-stress cortisol.’

In fifth place were bluberries, noted for being rich in anthocyanins.

‘They help reduce systemic inflammation associated with chronic stress and improve cognitive function in situations of mental fatigue,’ explained Rojas.
