A 20-year-old man has been arrested in Malaga for allegedly encouraging followers to use weapons and loot shops across the Costa del Sol on Halloween.
The Policia Nacional said the suspect, whom they identified as a member of the Blocus movement, called for looting in Malaga city, Fuengirola and Marbella on Saturday night.
His arrest is one of four announced by police over alleged links to the movement, with two suspects detained in Valencia and another in Bilbao.
Footage released by the force shows officers escorting the Malaga suspect towards a police vehicle.
In Alfafar, Valencia, officers arrested an alleged member of ‘Blocus Vlc’ who they say actively participated in messaging groups created by another young man arrested on Wednesday.
Police allege he encouraged the use of Molotov cocktails and called for shops in Valencia to be looted over the weekend.
In Bilbao, officers detained the administrator of an account allegedly linked to Blocus that was promoting a Saturday demonstration alongside calls for disturbances in the city centre.
According to police, the account identified shops as potential targets and also shared instructions for making explosive devices and Molotov cocktails.
The announcements did not disclose the suspects’ identities or specify the offences for which they were arrested.
It comes as shops across Spain have begun boarding up their windows over fears of disturbances.
