A Mango employee from Figueres has been confirmed among those killed in the Toledo train disaster after relatives and friends appealed online for help finding her.
Andrea Olmos Vaquero was travelling in carriage eight of the Madrid–Sevilla AVE train involved in Wednesday’s collision near Urda.
Sources close to her family and friends confirmed her death to Catalan newspaper Empordà. Figueres mayor Jordi Masquef expressed condolences to her loved ones on behalf of the city.
Andrea spent many years working at Mango in Figueres before taking on greater responsibilities within the fashion company and moving to Madrid.
Her work involved visiting different Mango stores, journeys she frequently made by train.

Following the crash, people close to Andrea circulated her name and carriage details on social media after losing contact with her.
The confirmation of her death ended their hopes of finding her alive.
The collision occurred on Wednesday morning when the AVE struck a stationary Iryo service on the Madrid–Sevilla high-speed line.
