This is the moment yet another ‘patera taxi’ dropped dozens of migrants off at a beach in Murcia.
The president of the region shared the clip on X on Wednesday morning as he demanded urgent action from Madrid.
Fernando Lopez Miras accused the Spanish government of failing to provide the Guardia Civil with sufficient resources to tackle people-smuggling networks operating off the southeastern coast.
‘Another speedboat with migrants has arrived on the coast of the Region of Murcia this morning with total impunity,’ Miras said.
‘Given the seriousness of the situation, the Governing Council will meet tomorrow in Cartagena.
‘The Spanish government’s dereliction of duty is unacceptable. The Guardia Civil cannot continue without the resources needed to stop the mafias.
‘We demand control of our coastline. This has to end now. I am still waiting for a response from the Prime Minister.’
It comes amid growing tensions between Murcia and the national government over irregular migration and security along the Mediterranean coast.
Murcia made international headlines last week when multiple migrant boats landing on packed tourist beaches.
Holidaymakers were seen scrambling to get out of the way of the mostly young men who were dropped off on the shore before running up the beach.
