Two men have been arrested and a third remains on the run after a Yemeni national was kidnapped, tortured and robbed in a savage attack on the Costa del Sol.

The victim was allegedly approached while walking in Torrox Costa, before the trio forced him into a vehicle and drove him to a remote area known as Pago de la Dehesa.

There, he claimed, the suspects held him against his will, threatened to kill him with a firearm, subjected him to a brutal beating and stole a large amount of cash.

During the ordeal, they repeatedly cut his face, leaving him disfigured, before ultimately dumping him in an abandoned rural area.

Fortunately, he was able to make his way to a petrol station, where workers immediately called the Guardia Civil.

When officers arrived, they found the Yemen national with his face covered in cuts and bruises.

He was taken by ambulance to the Axarquia Regional Hospital before being transferred to Malaga’s Regional University Hospital due to the seriousness of his injuries.

The Guardia Civil identified the vehicle used in the kidnapping and traced the three suspects, all of whom were identified by the victim.

Police alerts were issued across Spain, and on May 30 two of the suspects were arrested by officers from the Mossos d’Esquadra in Barcelona.

They have been handed over to the courts on suspicion of illegal detention, making death threats with a firearm, violent robbery and causing serious injuries.

The Guardia Civil says efforts are continuing to locate and arrest the third suspect, who remains at large.
