Two cocaine laboratories have been busted in an expat haven on the Costa del Sol.
The clandestine labs were rumbled in Coin and saw three people arrested on suspicion of supplying drugs to France and Italy.
The labs operated inside homes, where police say the gang mixed cocaine with other substances to increase its volume and profits.
The three suspects have been remanded in custody, while international arrest warrants have been issued for two others.
The investigation, codenamed Operation Kurt, ran for several months before officers raided the two properties on October 14.
They seized 68kg of cocaine, 550 litres of acetone, 150kg of cutting agents and €10,000 in cash.
Equipment recovered included presses, aluminium moulds, distillation apparatus and stamps used to mark the finished cocaine blocks. An AK-47 magazine was also found.
According to investigators, the organisation received large quantities of cocaine at the two heavily secured properties before processing and repackaging it.
The drugs were then allegedly transported by road to other European countries, mainly France and Italy, concealed in hidden vehicle compartments.
The Guardia Civil warned that handling highly volatile chemicals in residential properties posed a serious danger to neighbours, including the risk of fire or an explosion.
The suspects face allegations of drug trafficking, membership of a criminal organisation and falsification of public documents.
The case is being overseen by an investigating court in Coin.
