A British expat accused of killing a bouncer during a violent altercation at Elliott Wright’s Olivia’s La Cala is officially on the run, it has emerged.
Prosecutors are seeking a four-year prison sentence over the death of Jose Pisani, a 55-year-old security worker who died after being punched during a fight at Olivia’s in Mijas in April 2023.
Malaga’s Public Prosecutor’s Office is accusing the Brit of assault and grossly negligent homicide.
It is also requesting compensation payments of €60,000 each for the victim’s two children, as well as €107,599 for the eldest daughter of Pisani’s wife, who herself died six months later in a separate case investigated as gender violence.
Although no trial date has yet been set, court sources confirmed to La Opinion de Malaga the defendant is currently wanted by authorities after allegedly breaching the conditions of his provisional release and disappearing.
According to the prosecution, the incident took place at around 12.30am on April 16, 2023, at Olivia’s beach club, where Pisani was working in security ‘without employer liability insurance’.
Prosecutors say the victim intervened in a fight involving the accused and attempted to restrain him.
However, the Briton allegedly broke free and, ‘with the intention of harming his physical integrity and showing complete disregard for the possible consequences’, punched Pisani in the face.
The blow caused the doorman to fall backwards and hit his head heavily on the ground.
The prosecution document lists around 10 injuries suffered by Pisani, including bleeding on the outside of the brain and multiple skull fractures.

He died the following afternoon at Malaga Regional Hospital from severe traumatic brain injuries.
After leaving the venue following the alleged assault, the accused was quickly identified by the Guardia Civil as a 32-year-old British man living in Marbella. He was arrested at his home two days later.
He was later released while under investigation for negligent homicide and a drugs offence after officers allegedly found small quantities of narcotics during a search of his property.
It later emerged that the same suspect had previously been arrested months earlier over his alleged involvement in the attempted shooting murder of three Irishmen in Marbella.
