An earthquake has jolted residents out of bed in Granada.
The 3.5-magnitude tremor struck early Friday morning and was felt across the province.
Recorded at 6.06am, it had its epicentre in Jayena, in the Alhama de Granada area, according to the National Geographic Institute.
Despite being relatively moderate in strength, the quake was widely felt, not just near the epicentre but also in Granada’s metropolitan area and along the Costa Tropical.
The quake occurred at a depth of around 12km, which didn’t prevent people from feeling the vibrations.
Many reported being woken by the shaking and noise, taking to social media to share their experiences.
One wrote on X: ‘The earthquake that just happened in Granada… My whole bed shook and the floorboards are creaking.’

‘Everything in my house just shook,’ wrote another.
Emergency services confirmed that, although several calls were made to 112 Andalucia, no injuries or material damage have been reported.
It follows another smaller earthquake earlier this month, when a 2.8-magnitude tremor was recorded in Santa Fe.
