Two violent incidents rocked Sevilla over the weekend, including a fatal shooting and knife rampage.
The chaos began on Saturday afternoon at around 4pm, when authorities in Dos Hermanas responded to a man found dead with a gunshot wound to the forehead.
The victim, identified locally as Alejandro G.M, was reportedly found at the base of a ground‑floor flat on Calle Real de Utrera .
The Policia Nacional believe this to be a ‘settling of accounts’, and a suspect has been arrested.
Following the incident, tensions have risen in the neighbourhood, including a retaliatory incident later that same evening involving the victim’s brother armed with a machete in Los Montecillos.
Just a day later, on Sunday afternoon, violence erupted again, this time in the Bellavista district of Sevilla city, during the procession of the Hermandad de Valme, a major local religious event.
According to official reports, a visibly agitated man began threatening a crowd with a 36cm knife as the religious brotherhood passed through Calle Asencio y Toledo.

Eyewitnesses quickly contacted emergency services, saying the man had been acting erratically even before arming himself.
The man allegedly returned to his flat, retrieved the large knife, and came back down to the street where he lunged at police officers.
Three officers were injured while attempting to subdue him. The suspect was eventually tackled to the ground and arrested.
Emergency services confirmed that the suspect is currently in custody and will be brought before a judge.
The injured officers were treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
