A wanted German paedophile has been found living in a shack on the Costa del Sol.
The 39-year-old was previously sentenced for sexual abuse offences against a 13-year-old girl.
He was detained by the Policia Nacional after being traced to Velez-Malaga, in the Axarquia region, on August 11.
The man was subject to a European Arrest Warrant issued by the German authorities.
Spanish officers eventually tracked him down to a shack near the coast, where police said he had been attempting to keep a low profile.
He was reportedly supporting himself by carrying out maintenance work while living there.
According to the warrant, the offences took place in Germany between September 2021 and January 2022.
Authorities said the man initially contacted a 13-year-old girl through a website.
He began holding sexually explicit conversations with the child through an online chat service.

The contact subsequently developed into sexual video calls.
According to the warrant, the man later had sexual intercourse with the girl at a guesthouse in Leipzig, in the eastern German state of Saxony.
He was subsequently convicted and is now wanted in Germany to serve his sentence.
Following his arrest in Velez-Malaga, the fugitive was brought before the relevant Spanish judicial authority.
Proceedings are now expected to begin for his extradition.
