A British tourist is fighting for her life in Benidorm after falling ill just moments after getting a tattoo.

Poppy-mae Crutchley, 29, from Worcester, is currently in a coma in the Spanish resort after her major organs began failing, including her heart, kidneys and lungs.

A GoFundMe made by her friend Jodie Odell this week said her family urgently needs to raise money ‘to get her the treatment she needs’ and ‘most importantly bring her home where she belongs.’

The fundraiser said Poppy was on a hen do and her first girls’ holiday when she decided to get a tattoo.

It claimed: ‘Instantly after the tattoo Poppy felt unwell, that unwell that she had taken herself to the hospital where instantly and amazingly they acted straight away due to no oxygen in her body and fluid on her heart.

Poppy, 29, pictured with her new puppy and (right), in a Spanish hospital, fell ill instantly after getting a tattoo in Benidorm, a GoFundMe said

‘Poppy was transferred to another hospital in Spain that specialise in what she needs. As it stands currently, they are unsure at this moment in time if it is a bacterial infection (from the tattoo maybe?) or if she has been spiked.

‘We all have faith in getting her back to her normal, bubbly beautiful self, and with your help we can give her the best chance possible.’

Jodie described Poppy, the youngest of four children, as ‘a beautiful, bright, charismatic kind young woman with her whole life ahead of her.’

She added: ‘Our families are so close and we see each other almost every day, she doesn’t deserve this and our hearts are breaking with out her home.’
