A second Guardia Civil officer from Sevilla province has been confirmed among those killed in the Toledo train disaster.
Juan Jose Garcia Palacios, 26, had been missing since Wednesday’s collision near Urda.
His local town hall, El Palmar de Troya, announced his death and expressed its condolences to his family.
It wrote: ‘His passing, as unexpected as it is irreparable, comes as a severe blow to his parents, family, friends, and loved ones, as well as to our entire community. This loss has left us with a profound sense of sadness and desolation.
‘We extend our deepest condolences to their family and to everyone mourning this loss, offering our affection, support, and solidarity during this time of immense grief.
‘Furthermore, the City Council places all available resources and assistance at the family’s disposal to support and stand by them through these exceptionally difficult circumstances.’

His mother was among the first relatives to arrive at Sevilla’s Santa Justa station seeking information after the crash.
Residents had spent days sharing appeals online in the hope of finding him alive.
Local football club CD El Palmar Vereda Real, where Juan Jose played as a youngster, also paid tribute.
The club said its scheduled Sunday match would go ahead, with a minute’s silence in his memory, allowing the community to gather and support one another.
Juan Jose is the second Sevilla Guardia Civil officer confirmed dead following the collision.
Jose Manuel Chacón, 31, who served in the force’s judicial police unit in Madrid, was previously identified among the victims.
