This is the moment police uncovered an underground cannabis plantation during raids on three homes in Sevilla province.
Three people were arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking and electricity theft in the joint operation by the Guardia Civil and the Tax Agency’s Customs Surveillance Service in Osuna.
Officers seized 420 cannabis plants at different stages of growth, alongside cash and a prohibited Taser-type weapon.
At one property, police discovered underground spaces that had been adapted to house a cannabis plantation.
Footage shared online shows a Guardia Civil officer climbing down a white ladder to the hidden space below.
According to the authorities, the building work may have compromised the structural integrity of the building.
The concealed growing areas were designed to keep the plants hidden and make them harder to detect.
Some of the properties also contained complex equipment to maintain conditions for intensive cultivation, requiring substantial amounts of electricity.
The operation was carried out by customs investigators in Sevilla and the Guardia Civil’s judicial police team in Osuna, with all three searches authorised by a court.
