An 18-year-old suspected hitman is being held in prison over the fatal shooting of a prominent plastic surgeon at his clinic in Marbella.
A local judge ordered the teenager to be held in provisional custody on Saturday (October 10), following his appearance in court.
The decision was confirmed to Europa Press by sources at the High Court of Justice of Andalucia (TSJA).
The Swedish national, who does not live in Malaga province, was arrested less than 24 hours after the killing of German-born surgeon Alexander Aslani, 57, on Wednesday afternoon.
The doctor was shot several times in the head at approximately 6pm inside the plastic surgery clinic he founded in 2018, located in the Panorama building in the Rio Real area of Marbella.
According to reports, the gunman arrived at the premises on a motorbike, wearing black clothing, a helmet and a hood that concealed his face.
After parking on the pavement outside the building, he allegedly entered the clinic and made his way to the office where the surgeon was working.
The attacker then fired several shots at the doctor’s head before fleeing.
Emergency medical teams rushed to the scene but were unable to save the surgeon’s life.

The victim had reportedly carried out several surgical procedures earlier that day.
The Policia Nacional investigation remains ongoing, with detectives attempting to establish who may have ordered the killing and whether the suspected gunman received assistance from other individuals.
According to sources close to the investigation, officers have provisionally ruled out a connection to organised crime.
Instead, one of the main lines of inquiry centres on a possible disagreement involving a client of the surgeon’s clinic.
Investigators are examining whether someone dissatisfied with the outcome of a previous procedure could have commissioned the attack.
Another possibility is that the killing arose from a dispute with someone who had discussed undergoing surgery but had not proceeded with the operation.
The teenager’s arrest came remarkably quickly, with police detaining him within a day of the shooting.
The investigation continues.
