Four armed men have allegedly stormed a luxury boutique in Sotogrande, stealing designer watches and handbags worth hundreds of thousands of euros.
The thieves targeted Bag a Lux, a high-end retailer specialising in luxury timepieces and handbags, in the marina area of the exclusive Cadiz resort.
According to the business, the gang struck at around midday on October 8, threatening two female employees with firearms before locking them inside a bathroom.
The robbers made off with around 30 luxury watches and four designer handbags in an operation that allegedly lasted just five minutes.
The Guardia Civil has launched an investigation into the incident.
According to reports, one of the suspects approached the entrance pretending to be a customer.
The other three were allegedly hiding among nearby bushes, waiting for the door to be opened.
When an employee let the supposed customer inside, the remaining men rushed towards the entrance and prevented the security door from closing.
Inside were a shop assistant and a cleaner, who were allegedly threatened at gunpoint before being forced into a bathroom.
The employees reportedly had no opportunity to activate the shop’s panic alarm.

The gang then headed straight for the luxury watches, suggesting they knew exactly what they were looking for.
Among the stolen handbags were reportedly one made from crocodile skin, another from ostrich leather and two more conventional leather designs.
The suspects are also said to have stolen approximately €600 belonging to the employees, along with a Pandora ring.
The boutique stocks some of the world’s most prestigious luxury brands, including Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet and Hermes.
On Friday, the business shared photographs of the stolen merchandise on Instagram, including dozens of expensive watches and several designer handbags.
In a statement, the boutique said: ‘Yesterday, October 8, four armed men robbed our store in Sotogrande, stealing luxury items worth hundreds of thousands of euros.’
It added that police were investigating the incident and thanked customers for their support.
‘We will keep moving forward,’ the business said, alongside a heart emoji.
Photographs shared online showed the boutique’s entrance cordoned off with green-and-white Guardia Civil tape.
The Guardia Civil investigation continues.
