Dreaming of buying a home in Spain without breaking the bank? You don’t have to look far.
In fact, the cheapest place in the entire country to buy a home is in Andalucia.
According to the latest house price report from idealista, the municipality of Fuente Obejuna has the lowest average asking price in Spain, with purchasers needing just €369 per square metre.
That’s an incredible 87% below the average asking price across Andalucia, which now stands at €2,936/m2.
The figures come from Idealista’s second-quarter house price report for 2026 and show that inland Cordoba and Jaen continue to offer some of Spain’s biggest property bargains.

Fuente Obejuna not only tops the list in Andalusia but also ranks as the cheapest municipality in Spain.
The next most affordable town in the region is Quesada in Jaen, where the average asking price is €471/m². It is closely followed by Penarroya-Pueblonuevo (€490/m²), Villanueva del Arzobispo (€492/m²), Paterna del Rio (€508/m²), El Carpio (€536/m²) and Mancha Real (€556/m²).
The report highlights the enormous contrast between Andalusia’s inland towns and the region’s booming coastal property market.
While buyers in areas such as the Costa del Sol routinely pay several thousand euros per square metre, homes in Fuente Obejuna cost almost eight times less than the regional average.
Idealista also found that four of the five biggest discounts compared with regional average prices anywhere in Spain are found in Andalusia.
Fuente Obejuna leads the way, with homes priced 87% below the Andalusian average, followed by Quesada (84% lower), Penarroya-Pueblonuevo (83% lower) and Villanueva del Arzobispo (83% lower).
Across Spain, only one other municipality has an average asking price below €400 per square metre: Pedro Muñoz in Castilla-La Mancha, where homes average €377/m².
The findings reinforce just how much value can still be found away from Spain’s major cities and coastal hotspots, particularly for buyers willing to consider smaller inland communities.
