An ‘expert’ burglary gang has been arrested after targeting homes across Torrevieja.
Six suspects aged between 27 and 36 were detained and held without bail following an investigation by the Guardia Civil’s specialist ROCA unit, which focuses on property crimes.
The operation began on April 1 after police stopped a rental car being driven by a man who was wanted under an outstanding arrest warrant.
When searching the vehicle, officers discovered a number of valuable items that the driver was unable to account for, raising suspicions they had been stolen.
The discovery triggered a wider investigation involving surveillance and monitoring of the suspects, eventually leading officers to several properties where they recovered large quantities of suspected stolen goods.
Among the items seized were jewellery, electronic devices and other valuables believed to have been taken during burglaries at homes in the area.

Some of the recovered property has already been returned to its owners.
Officers also seized specialist locksmith tools capable of opening locks without leaving visible signs of forced entry – equipment commonly associated with professional burglary gangs.
All six suspects have appeared before the Investigating Court in Torrevieja, which ordered they be held in pre-trial detention on suspicion of burglary and membership of a criminal organisation.
The Guardia Civil said the investigation remains ongoing as officers continue trying to identify additional victims and establish the full extent of the group’s alleged criminal activity.
